The Leo Benardo Memorial Scholarship Fund
This gift, made in memory of his father, Leo Benardo ‘47.
These monies will be used to fund stipends or scholarships for students in the Division of Humanities & the Arts or in The School of Education. One student will be eligible to receive a scholarship in the amount of $3,500 annually, unless the balance is below $3,500, in
which case the award shall be for the remaining balance.
Annual scholarships will be given to a worthy student based on the selection criteria by the donor.
III) Selection Criteria for Applicants:
- Preference for students who identify as first-generation or who identify as a New American;
- Student must be in good academic standing, with a minimum grade point average of 3.5
- Student must be a sophomore for initial eligibility, but may receive the award in future years as
long as they remain in good standing;
- Preference for students studying in the Division of Humanties & the Arts or the School of
Education and awards may alternate between these two academic areas in any given aid year.
