Dr. Jerry Gelbwachs Endowed Fellowships in Science Education

The Dr. Jerry Gelbwachs Fellowships in Science Education is for the School of Education
undergraduate Science Education students.The Gelbwachs Fellow will receive an award to
go towards tuition and fees, and other educational expenses.

Criteria:

  • Be continuously enrolled in an undergraduate CCNY Science Education Program leading to
    NYS teacher certification.
  • Demonstrate science proficiency by getting a grade of B or better in at least two, 300-level
    courses in their content area (i.e., biology, chemistry, earth science, or physics).
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 in content area courses and 2.8 overall).
  • Submit a personal statement (up to 500 words) discussing the importance of science education
    and their goals as a science teacher.
