The Doris Lippman Prize in Creative Writing
For the most accomplished piece of work by a student in the Graduate Program in Creative Writing.
Awarded to the student in City College’s nationally ranked MFA Program in Creative Writing who, in the opinion of faculty, who will make the initial nominations, and then in the opinion of a jury of at least three, has produced the most outstanding piece of substantial work in the MFA program that year. This work can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or other form of writing.
Students may enter as many contests as they wish; however, each contest requires its own unique entry. The same manuscript cannot be submitted for more than one award. In addition, multiple entries for a single award are not permitted:
one manuscript for each award.
The manuscript title and the name of the award sought must appear on each manuscript’s first page. With the exception of the Goodman Fund Grant entries, All manuscripts must be submitted without the name of the author anywhere on the manuscript. All manuscripts must be double-spaced (poetry may be single-spaced) and typed in a standard font such as Times New Roman.
Each entry must include a separate document containing the following information:
