The Joseph Schur Mathematics Prize

The students who are eligible to receive this award are preferred to be a mathematics major who is
an excellent student who takes part in community affairs, and intends to teach students at the junior
high or high school level.

The awardee will be an outstanding student selected by the School of Education on the basis of
academic achievement, aptitude and commitment to teaching mathematics in public schools.

Criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a School of Education mathematics 7-12 or middle school mathematics program
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5
  • Demonstrate commitment to community
